Hi! My name is Lesley. I'm using this post to intoduce myself to you. I'm a 27 year old stay at home mom. I am married to a wonderful guy, Robby. We have one beautiful daughter named Gracie. She is the light of our lives. She is the reason for everything in our life. We live in a rural area. we have 3 dogs and a pond full of fish. Perfect for summertime fun.
The past year has really changed my family life. It all started when Robby had an accident at work. He was in construction as a roofer. He fell off a roof at about 12 feet. Thankfully, he survived the fall. He did, however, have some very serious injuries. He broke an ankle and an arm and was in a wheelchair for 6 weeks. The injury to his arm led to him having to have surgery and a metal prothesis used as a replaced radial head (the bone that pivots with your elbow). After MANY doctor appointments and much physical therapy, he has been allowed to look for work. Due to the extent of the injuries and future problems that will arise, he won't be able to do construction anymore. The one trade he really knows how to do. So light duty work here he comes. Maybe. If he can find a decent job in this area. Construction and coal mines are major jobs in WV.
But, as I was saying, family life has a changed quite a bit. I'm a stay at home mom. That's what I do. I did work as a secretary before I had Gracie. But now that I have a child, I want to focus on her. Going back to work was a thought after Robby's accident, but there never seemed a good time. So I continue to stay home and "make ends meet". One day I think maybe I will find some type of work at home job that will suit me. Guess we will have to wait and see.
One thing I think has been the most trying problem since he has been home is trying to keep Gracie on a schedule and keep the discipline the same. Robby and I have different ideas on what works. And as long as he was working during the day it wasn't such a problem. Now, it seems like there's a battle for control. I want control of my house again. I don't know.
Some days I want to pull all my hair out and run screaming. Others, I enjoy having all of us together. But I can't say that I won't be glad when life returns back to a somewhat normal routine.

Being from WV....i know construction and coal mines are major jobs for this area...wish you guys the best of luck on his job hunt and you gaining your sanity back. lol My husband doesnt work for a coal mine but works for a comapny in Glen White that manufactors equip. so he does have to go in the mines quite a bit. I get nervous everytime he has to go underground. Ive been looking for jobs to work from home as well but no luck here. The only things i can find are selling things or having home parties and im not much of a sales person...too shy for that. lol Good luck with your search.....I hope you find something. Take care....and stay warm. Isnt this weather been crazy!! 60 degrees one day and 40 the next. GRRRR!

Hi! I'm Leanne and I'm new to this site and was searching for moms from WV and came across your profile. I am very sorry to hear about your husbands accident, I'm sure things will turn around for you. Your daughter is adorable and shares my oldest daughters nickname(Gracie). Grace is her middle name and everyone started calling her Gracie. I know what you mean when you say you just want to pull your hair out and run screaming. I guess that is normal for any mom. Take Care
