I haven't been here that long but I was excited when I first joined. I was looking forward to making friends, finding answers to questions I have wondered about, etc.
However, the only thing I have found is women displaying the behavior that men make jokes of. I have seen the self proclaimed "Christians" behave and "speak" to other women in ways that make me ashamed to call myself "Christian". I have never seen such hypocritical behavior in my entire life. The religion wars that go on here are unbelievable!! Not to mention the mommy wars in general. The breast feeding, circumcision and "I am a better mommy than you because I did it this way" posts in groups and journals. Why can't you agree to disagree and go your own ways rather than dragging it out and bringing your cyber friends in to bash someone to hell and back? Why can't everyone understand there is a common bond between all of us, and it's called being a mother? I'll tell you why.....there apparently is something about sitting behind a computer that makes you feel as though you can say whatever you like, without repercussions.
Remember this though, there is actually a person on the other side of that screen and whether you like it or not, they too have feelings. So while you are making your self important, ignorant and cowardly statements, in the end you will have to answer for your actions no matter who or what you do or don't believe in!
Comments:
unfortunatly it is human nature that makes it hard to be so acceptable to other peoples, beleifs or ways of thinking. Can't expect all moms to agree. I am multi religion but not all gun ho and this whole religion, racial, personal wars going get a little annoying. I also find it slightly amusing. it is how you read it and take it to how you start seeing cafemom. i take it in good humor and entertainment. everyone has a right to express their own opinions, and has a right to disagree, but you have the right to choose if you will let it get to you or not.
smile today is a happy day and people love ya!

You are absolutely right. The internet in general, not just cafemom, gives people the sense of feeling invincible and allows them to speak out in ways they would never do in person. Sometimes this is a good thing, but too often it turns into battles over silly, senseless things.
Great post!
