Well I went to the Drs Friday for a egular checkup. Everything was going good until the Dr. told me tat he wants to send me upstate to get a level II sonogram. They have been telling me that my placenta has been low but never told me how low. According to my Dr. its almost touching my cervix. I wont know anything else until I go get this songram. To be a lil honest I am a lil scared. I dont want anything to happen and I loss this baby nor do I think that will happen but still... Well my son is home from school today sick so I'm going to lay around here and get all the rest I can with him...

I am sorry you are so worried...I wouldbe as well.  However, sounds like you have a proactive OB who is taking great care to make sure there IS nothing to be concerned about...and if there is, well, at least you will know you are doing everything you can to ensure your baby arrivals safely and healthy.

Perhaps if you post this on a pregnancy board, there will be someone else who has gone through this exact same thing and can lend some support and ease your mind a bit.  I am afraid these journals move so fast, there may not be enuf people viewing it.

Be well and try to relax!

Nov. 5, 2007 at 8:02 AM when the placenta touches or starts growing over the cervix, its called a placenta previa....either full or partial.   It still is a problem BUT you can deliver a healthy baby, my daughter had placenta previa from week 10 to week 35.6.  If the placenta doesn't move off the cervix it is a definite C section though.  Also you may experience bleeding and usually your put on bedrest because gravity is not your friend anymore.  So REST a lot until you find out for sure where that placenta is moving too.  It can move off the cervix at the time of delivery too.
