My beautiful little boy, Aiden, has proven time and again that he's nothing like his older brother, Patrick! Though Patrick has proven to be a handful as a two-year old, as a baby he was somewhat of an anomaly! Perfect sleeper, perfect eater, perfect disposition! At 2 1/2 months old he started sleeping through the night and has had regular naps and easy sleeping routines since! Now we come to Aiden! My second wonderful little boy! He, too, started sleeping through the night at 2 1/2 months old! WOO-HOO!! I hit the jackpot! TWO IN A ROW...or so I thought. About two weeks of great nights he started waking up again. First just once a night. All I had to do was go into his room, put the binky back in his mouth and go back to bed. Good to go. That didn't keep. It became twice a night under the same circumstances, then three times a night, needing a feeding in the middle. Then the feedings started to not even help. When he wakes up he's UP! I have to stay up with him for 1-2 HOURS to get him back to sleep. It's so frustrating. I'm really at my wits end. He won't take good naps to speak of, either!!! He'll fall asleep in our arms, no problem, but if I even THINK about putting him in his crib during the day he wakes up 10-20 minutes later! I'm not gonna give up on this napping thing, though. He NEEDS to sleep in his crib, and that's kind of all there is to it. I guess I'm just causing more trouble for myself, but I've gotta teach him, don't I? By 6-months old Patrick was practically telling ME when it was time for him to go into his crib for naps/bedtime! The main problem with Aiden's sleeping is that he's just learned to roll over and he's GOOD at it...but he's only good from his back to his stomach. He can't go in reverse. The problem with this is that he doesn't like being on his stomach. So, he'll roll himself over and then get pissed off, thus waking himself up!! Needless to say, there's lots of fussing, LOTS of formula being used, and NO sleep for mom! My husband is perfectly willing to help during the nights, however, he was hit by an IED in Iraq four months ago and is still not able to walk without the aid of krutches. So, he can't do a whole lot with the baby!! K....I've vented! Gotta get that out every once in a while!
