So on Thursday I go to a new Bible Study at my church for the first time. It was a great study, but the next afternoon my son has a fever. I thought he might have caught something from the study, but over the next couple of days he had no other symptoms of anything. No runny nose, no coughing, no rash, no pink eyes, no diarea, no throwing up, no loss of appetite. Anyway, I gave him Tylenol several times, his temp was around the 101 area. I was thinking probably an ear infection, I'll take him in on Monday morning. We didn't take him to church just to be safe. So last night at 10:30, he wakes up crying/screaming, and wouldn't calm down. I take is temperature, and it's over 104! So we decided that my husband would take him to the emergency room, and I would stay home with our daughter, who was still sleeping. At 11:30 my husband finally (an hour seems like an eternity when you are worried about your child!) called and said that his fever had broke soon after they got there. He did have an ear infection, but he also has strep throat! Who takes their child to be with a bunch of other kids when they have, or are getting over strep! I realize that sometimes you don't know if your child is sick, but generally you do. You may not know its strep, but if the kid has a runny nose, or coughing, stay home!!!! I didn't know my son had strep, but because he had a fever, I didn't take him out. I wish more moms would show the same courtesy. Thank you to the mom who didn't care if my kid got sick! I think I'm giving up on ever taking my kids to those indoor play centers too. They get sick every time! To my friends, not trying to blame any of you, I just need to vent...
