I give up, the laundry wins (A vent)

I'll admit it, I've been doing EVERYTHING in my power to avoid doing the laundry for about 4 days now, mostly because it's way too hard to get it sorted, washed, dried, folded and put away while there's a 15 month old in the house who thinks he needs to pull everything out of laundry baskets and then put it back again (but not in the same laundry basket it came from) and thinks it's funny to unfold clothes that Mommy just folded.

MOST OF THE TIME, I just stay up all night about once a month and do all of our laundry at once and get it overwith, and then my MIL helps me out the next day with the kids so I can sleep.  I decided that tonight would be that night because my son is staying at my parents house til tomorrow afternoon.  So I get everything sorted out and I go to start the first load and discover we're almost out of all the laundry detergent, softner, AND bleach (isn't it crazy how they occasionally all run out at the same time??), so I run to the store while the first load is being washed.  I come back, put the first load in the dryer and start a second load in the washer... when the dryer stops running I go to get  the clothes from the dryer, stupidly thinking that they'd be done and guess what!  They're still wet so I have to do it again (I don't mean they were a little damp still, I'm takjing they felt like they'd been in the dryer 10 minutes... we seriously need the air ducts cleaned I guess) and I leave the second load in the washer.  When the dryer was done a second time, I switched the clothes around and tried to turn on the washer and NOTHING HAPPENS, so I try again and nothing.... I try all the different setting but none work until I close the lid.  THEN it starts the spin cycle even though the dial is set to start at the beginning of the cycle!!!  I've tried every setting the stupid thing has and it does the same thing on every one of them!  I don't know if maybe it didn't drain right the last time, or something threw it off or what, but I'm so pissed off about it that I'd love to throw it out the window like in that stain commercial.  It's not like it's even an old washing machine!  It's less than a year old!!!  It's done this once before back in June, but it fixed itself in like an hour... no such luck this time though...I keep checking and it always does the same thing.

I have to get this laundry done and I would have loved to do it without having to fight over folding clothes with Evan but I don't think it's going to happen now. 

I'm so mad about this!!  !@#$#%^!!!!!
