What in the world makes a kid think it is a good idea to take their scissors to their hair?!? At least it was only part of her bangs. She is so grounded for the whole weekend!
When we were kids, one of my older sisters cut her bangs with our mom's pinking shears. She had zig-zag bangs for weeks.

Someday you will look back on this and laugh , it is something they all or most all kids seams to go threw , humm , I guess it is a part of being a kid .good thing about hair, it always grows back .

I feel your pain.
When my daughter was 4 - her best friend cut off every single strand of my daughter's hair. And i do mean EVERY STRAND. My daughter had more hair on her head when she was born than she did when her little friend got through with it.
