The flyover

Duck adventures carrying veterans!

This was a very important picture for me.  This family sat next to me and this man showed up soon after the first floats were finished.  He was in WWII and apparently very important because everyone saluted him and many stopped and talked with him. He was one of the first persons in the parade and now was able to watch.  I love this picture.. The daughter was crying and so was his wife.  After I took the picture I got very emmotional too.  This is what veteran's day is all about.  And I will never forget that moment!  After the parade, he told my husband that we were a very nice family and keep up the good work.  Wow,   I was speechless!!!  His daughter gave me her email address but I washed it in my jeans.... I can't believe I did that.. I am so upset with myself but everything happens for a reason......

3 blocks from the TEXAS Capitol.  What a view and what a perfect day!!!

OK, I know you can't see him but this is our pack and nick is the second one behind the banner.  My husband and phil are on the end (guy with hat in yellow)

There is Jojo with the blue balloon.. running to join the parade... Phil was tired so he came back with me to catch all the candy they were throwing to the crowd!

Bye Mom, I am marching now...... he was so cute!

I took this on our way home after that great experience.  This is the Colorado River aka Lady Bird Lake aka  Town lake... by Zilker Park.  I love living in Austin, TEXAS!

Looks like you guys really had a great day and I love the story about the Vet, how cool to actually meet one on this special day, and share in those moments.  Nick looks so different in his uniform, older & distinguished, LOL!  Our kids love parades and we have alot of them downtown we just never seem to be able to get up and out of the house that early.
