Airplane tickets for my girls!

Arg!  I am so nervous about this.  Now that they are both old enough to fly my ex wants them to fly up for christmas.  I am so nervous about this.  Not to mention I so far haven't found a ticket for less then $300.

Well first of all - if HE wants them to fly, then HE should cough up the money for the tickets...

Nov. 13, 2007 at 10:44 AM I agree he should be the one to pay for the tickets... also how old are your girls. I have one that is eleven and no airline will allow her to fly unaccompanied until she is 16... My ex has looked into this many times... Was just wondering

Nov. 13, 2007 at 10:53 AM Oh he is going to pay at least for one ticket believe that.  My girls are 5 and 7.  My step-daughter flew to her mom's by herself at age 6.  He supposedly talked to an airline that said when my little one turned five she could fly!

Nov. 13, 2007 at 11:47 AM My ex had to come fly out to get our daughter. The sirline said that after 911 they changed all policies and children under 16 are not to fly alone. You may want to do some research on your own and come to your own conclusion. IMO wether it is ok with the airline or not that is just to young to fly by themselves even with a chaparone (flight attendent)... they flight attendents are not required to sit with the child on the flight. So check around do youe own research and come to your own conclusion... Also wante dto add.. in your visitation agreement does it say he has to come to the childs place of residence to pick them up... if so then he has to fly out there anyways to come get them... that's what mine says....

I think he should definately pay for half the cost of the tickets, but I don't know that I'd put my kids on a plane  by themselves.  I'd certainly research the airlines policies on that before putting them on a plane.
