Elliot had his one month checkup on Monday...he's up to 8 pounds 15 ounces and is 22 1/2 inches long now. That's my big boy! He got his 2nd Hepatitis B shot, which Rob thought was hilarious. Rob is sadistic, though.
Yesterday I had to go to the library for a Summer Reading Program meeting, and it was requested that I bring the child who, as always, was a big hit. There is never a shortage of people to hold him if he starts fussing.
This morning we are checking out the local La Leche League meeting to see what that's about. Breastfeeding problems are pretty much nil right now, but I thought I'd see what it was all about anyway.

I don't think there is anything harder than watching your baby get stuck with a needle.
When my litle girl was 5 weeks old she got pnemonia and had to be in the hospital. As part of that they had to stick her for an IV. She came out looking like a boxer with both hands and arms bandaged up. By about stick 5 they had finally managed to get it in place without blowing a vien in her foot.
I was he one to hold her (I didn't want some stranger to) and while it tore my heart out I knew why it was bein done. My husband, who likes to think of himself as the badman himself was in tears. Nevertheless he stayed in the room.
It's just hard. And yeah, it's slightly sadistic, but it's nescesarry.
