I went in for my 36 week appointment today. Everything is progressing normally. I'm even dialated a couple of centimeters! Toby is head-down. It looks like everything is ready to go.
But am I?
We won't have time or money to paint his room before he gets here. We don't yet have any of the major baby gear (crib, carseat, etc.) because of money. We are working on signing up for TennCare so that he'll be covered, but it isn't done yet. I just feel like everything is moving too fast, and I can't keep up. I know that God will provide, but I wonder sometimes why He waits until the last minute.
I do have a birth plan, have educated myself, and am emotionally and physically as ready as I can be for labor and birth. We are reading "The Big Book of Birth" every night so that my husband can also be aware and able to make decisions in the delivery room. It's a great book, and I recommend it for anyone wanting to go through labor without meds.
I am so tired. I just want to lay down and go to sleep. But I can't. I am stuck here until Nathan gets off work at 11. I'm also unbelievably bored.
