When deciding what kind of a vegetable I would be for the topic of the day, I decided it had to be a tomato. Yes Yes....I know! A tomato isn't really a vegetable, its a fruit! But that is part of the reason it fits. I never quite fit into any group, you see, so a fruit that is used as a vegetable kinda fits!
I can be both sweet and a lot acidic if I need to be, just ask my husband. I love to hang out with all the other vegetables that come over to the house just like a tossed salad. I veg at the computer all the time by myself, just like a tomato can be sliced up and served by itself. Hey! I even have rosy red cheeks (my doctor calls it rosacia or something like that!LOL)
Tomatoes are found in a lot of my favorite foods (spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, enchiladas, and even a great tomato spice cake recipe I make occasionally). It even goes great with other foods (my daughter says I play well with others too), like broccoli, olives, cucumbers, etc.
Its in a lot of places in my kitchen at once (just like I feel I have to be when taking care of kids and a household), ketchup, soup, sauce, and juice.
Most important, however is that it leaves its mark! Just like I want to by the time I pass on.
OK....Now where is that comet cleanser! I need to get that darned sauce off the counter top before I go to bed or its going to leave a nasty stain.
