Why won't most kids, between the ages of two and eight years, listen and pay attention to the many warnings they receive from parents and grandparents?

For example: It is natural for parents to stress the importance of kids staying out of the street while riding their bicycles or tricycles, while giving them reminders about wearing their helmets, watching out for possibly dangerous dogs and other warnings that children may choose to ignore.

Kids may not take these serious warnings to heart, partly because they are so used to hearing their parents talk about the above issues. Eventually, the more children are warned, the less they seem to pay attention to the reality of certain immediate dangers facing them.

The point is, children tend to believe what they see and hear, as young minds absorb information from viewing videos on television, cell phones or auto-monitors.

A new DVD entitled: "Bird Mommy's Readalong Storybook for Kids" is gaining a huge amount of popularity among parents and grandparents. This DVD contains sixteen enlightening, animated stories and rhymes kids love and they pay close attention, because these are not just run-of the-mill, mindless cartoons.

Each story is related by Bird Mommy in a manner that is not only entertaining, but effective, backed with uptempo guitar instrumentals from the 60's and 70's. Kids ask to watch this DVD over and over, and are soon memorizing each story or rhyme.

Children are spellbound with each subject and may not realize they are absorbing vital safety lessons while actually learning to read with Bird Mommy's easy-to-read graphics that accompany each story.

This DVD is a "must-see" item for parents and grandparents to view online, with free sample clips at: http://www.birdmommy.com

A note to Cafe Moms from Birdmommy:

     Hi all,

The above message was written by my loving husband, Jan Davis, who has always wanted to work with me on what many would call a "labor of love."  We co-wrote all of the stories and rhymes on the Bird Mommy DVD.

We could not have completed the DVD without the help of a dear friend, who wouldn't take a penny for his fantastic editing effort.  He is one of my husband's biggest fans and wanted to make sure all 16 stories contained Jan's music.

What we accomplished, as grandparents, is truly a labor of love for children everywhere.

      Love & hugs to all,

      Donna Bird
