It's a journal................

{a little bit of me}

I've been missing my mom a lot lately. (what else is new?!) So I just knew I had to go visit her grave before Thanksgiving. Her most favorite of all the holidays. I hadn't been there since last November, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. This time I brought my camera. My Mother would have approved. Her mausoleum is quite beautiful, and of course the first thing I did upon entering was cry and cry and cry but then I just sat and looked around and saw the beauty. I thought I'd share some of the photos I took. This post is not meant to be a somber one but a joyful one. My mom, Ann, is a very vivacious woman, who somewhere is saying, "would you look at my meg marie, always with her camera" - I know in my heart she is flying through the cosmos and experiencing great joy. For any of you who have lost your Moms I think you know what I mean when I say......it helps! Happy Thanksgiving my Cafemom Friends!! And especially to Kerry and my new friend Nicole. And to my other gals - go hug your moms for me ok?!!

Nov. 21, 2007 at 3:37 PM Those are gorgeous, her space is very beautiful.  The last one got me choked up though, with the pics of Annie laying there.  I'm glad you could go there for a visit and bring your camera along with you.  Thanks for sharing.

Nov. 21, 2007 at 3:53 PM You definitely got me choked up! I'm sorry you are missing your mom. I can't imagine what life would be like without my mom around anymore. I miss my mom a lot since we moved (they live in Texas where we are from, and we moved to CA) but at least she is just a phone call away. I'm glad your visit to her gravesite made you feel better.

Here I sit all teary too~ What a touching post! Your pictures are a wonderful memorial to your Mom~ I bet she is smiling while she is as proud as could be!

My Mom passed away 10 years ago, and there are days that it feels like yesterday! She never got to meet her Grandkids and I get the feeling she would have been the bestest Gramma ever! SHE was the one who encouraged my love of photography~ and our first Nikon nut in our family.... It is so hard when someone SO special leaves you....

I need to go to my Mom's grave now~ Thank you for the reminder.... and the beauty....

My dear sister,

Thank you for sharing these amazing photographs of our mom's beautiful resting place.  Yes, she would definitely approve, and I hope you continue with camera in hand to be all of the wonderful woman you can be.  Come back and visit us again soon, maybe in the spring you can take some photos of my garden design outside the mausoleum, I'll have all new plantings in then.  I'm very grateful today that you are in my life.  xx, Kerry
