I was really looking forward to today. I didn't have alot to do... I did alot of it over the weekend. I sorted things in the garage so I could load the truck for work today. Had my snacks organized and diapers in the truck. I was ready. My daughter had been at my mom's part of the weekend helping her cook for our family Thanksgiving on Sunday and my son, stating he had no homework went to my brothers for the weekend. We had our usual family get together at mom's. We ate too much, Sponge Dad Cranky Pants had his usual comments that torqued off atleast half of us there. The kids and I came home and settled in for the night.Today, I spent part of my morning on the phone working on donations for the shelter, chatting with friends and working on my website. About mid afternoon, I get a call from the highschool. It's my son's english teacher. I'm puzzled by this because the only time I ever get a call from the school is if they are sick. She tells me he has an F in her class. An F I ask? Yes she says, he isn't turning in his assignments. I'm extremely puzzled by this since he is eligible to graduate after this semester, taking college courses during the regular school year and in the summer and is already being recruited by 7 colleges. I asked him after school about it and his only response to me is oh yeah, I forgot................
I forgot!!!!!!! Excuse me!!!!! I know he hates english with a passion but......... to not turn in the work is unacceptable! Not even try???? I wanted to smack him up beside the head! I have taken his cellphone, tv, video games, and grounded him to the house. There is no driving the truck or anything until the grade is up. I didn't yell, I just let him know how very disappointed I was in him. But, I'll tell ya, deep inside.......................... I was screaming my head off!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

I have the SAME problem with mine, both of them! I got the most AMAZING compliments on both boys, but kept hearing, "He seems to forget to turn in his homework". I've been hearing this since the 1st grade during every first marking period. Drives me NUTS!!!
And get THIS....Luke failed GYM CLASS! How the heck do you fail GYM CLASS??? I'll tell you how! The first 10 weeks they have a program called, "Fit for Life". They sit in a CLASSROOM for 1/2 the gym class and learn about FITNESS. Luke was consistantly "unprepared" for this class. WHY? He had his gym clothes, but not his notebook for the class. ARGH!!! I hate that Gym is figured into their final average in the FIRST place, but c'mon! Now they're not even getting the PHYSICAL part of the education for 1/2 the classes!!!!!! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!
Other than that, he's doing great. Oh, except Studio Art, which he HAS to take, and hates. The kid is not artistic and hates to draw. But he's doing well in math and science and social studies. Hmmmmm....do I punish him for practically flunking Art class and flunking GYM? GYM of all the stupid things to flunk.....
