On Sunday 12/2, Dominic James will be 8 months old!! I can't even believe how fast the time has gone by :o( Sometimes I wish he was still a little newborn--so small, helpless, and just content to be in my arms.  Now he's so big--he rolls over, he sits up all by himself, he crawls, he pulls himself up to stand on ANYTHING that's sturdy enough, and the other day he started "cruising".  He's always been so active, and now that he knows how to get around he never wants to be held--unless he's tired or doesn't feel well, then he wants Mommy!! :o)

The past couple of months have had their hard days from his teething.  He now has two bottom teeth and I think he's starting to get some back teeth since whenever he chews on anything he puts it back near his molars.  I hate using Tylenol or Motrin so I try everything else first: cold teething rings out of the fridge, teething crackers, frozen fruit in the mesh baggies, and those vibrating teethers.  When that doesn't work, I try the Orajel which he HATES!! And if that doesn't work, then I whip out the pain relief medicine.  I can't wait til he has all of his teeth and he's out of that misery.

The only other thing that's been hard on us lately is his separation anxiety.  He is sssoooo attached to me that I'm afraid to leave him with anyone else because I hate it when he cries :o(  He even cries with his Daddy sometimes and I know that hurts Daddy's feelings.....Putting him down for naps used to be easy but now he cries as soon as I leave the room.  I don't want him to feel like I'm abandoning him but I also don't want him to need me around to fall asleep or I'll be rocking him to sleep for the next five years!!!  I really need to start letting friends and family baby-sit more often so that he can get used to being around other people but it's so hard because he and I have a routine that he does really well by and no matter how well I explain it, NO ONE is going to be able to do that routine and make him feel as comfortable as I can....Why didn't anyone tell me I would never want to leave his side???
