So, yes, obviously I've had an Xray... a more difficult task for me, would be to try and name the body parts that haven't been either Xrayed, scoped, or had an ultrasound on!
When you have your first major surgery at 22 months, it kind of gives you and indication of what's to come. Just the follow up on my hip has probably got me 30 or so xrays, and that's a small estimate. Then there are the 6 or 7 MRI's on the same area... not to mention the MRI's of the spine, head, neck... etc.
Then there were the years when they were trying to diagonse the Crohn's... barium enemas, small bowel follow throughs, iv contrasts... you name it. There have been numerous times in my life where I've felt alot like a medical guinea pig!
Thankfully though... the only true break I've suffered was my index finger... broke it the first time playing basketball, the second playing football.... not bad for a handicapped girl, who was told she'd never be able to do sports!
So, for the time being, I'm on a hiatus from Xrays... knock on wood! The next surgery isn't planned for another couple of years, when I go in for the hip replacement, but I figured it was best if I waited till the kids were out of the "carry me" phase before I planned something like that.
Ok, that's all for the "incredible hulkish looking woman at the keyboard".... if any other weird symptoms start to crop up as a result of my frequent Xrays, I'll be sure to keep you all posted!
