I just had a bad dizzy spell.  My vision went blurry and I got real light headed. I tried to sit down and get something in my belly and I couldnt even make myself swallow it (I was overweight my own life and I had to teach myself not to eat if I wasnt hungry and that is becoming a problem. I hadnt eaten because I wasnt hungry.) I made it to the bath room tried and tried to throw up and couldnt do it- didnt need to, I just lost control of my bladder. I broke out in a cold sweat and started to shake. Then I sat down and ate something and I am fine.
Did anyone else face anything like this? Its terrible. What could this be? Anemia-maybe?

Feb. 23, 2007 at 1:10 PM Sounds like a serious dip in your blood sugar. You need to see a doc in my opinion! That is scary stuff!

Feb. 23, 2007 at 1:14 PM Hypoglycemia, is low blood sugar. It will cause the symptoms you are experiencing, besides the loosing of bladder control. That was probably due to just your body being overwhelmed. I would eat small meals everyday, and go see your MD for further testing.

Feb. 23, 2007 at 1:26 PM i was at the grocery store with my mom when i was like 6 or 7 months along and all of a sudden my vision went black and i was so dizzy i couldnt walk. I had to kneel on the ground in the middle of the store with my head in between my knees, when my vision came back my mom bought me something to eat and i sat in the car while she finished shopping and i felt fine afer i ate something, but my doctor said it was low blood sugar so she told me to alwasy keep something small to eat in my purse like an energy bar just in case i need something in my system.

If it's hard for you to eat when you're not hungry, Try drinking something like a big glass of milk, juice or maybe even a smoothie or a milkshake. I didn't have much of an appetite in the beginning either and like you I don't like to eat if I'm not hungry, but that all will change. Now I can eat a huge meal and be starving two hours later, so as my dear husband puts it, I eat like a cow... which is his way of saying that I graze. I try to never let myself get hungry. Don't stress, mention it to your Doctor when you go to your appointment but until then just try not to panic. Try to eat, even if it's just a carrot here and there to keep your blood sugar up, and stay on top of your fluid intake.

It gets easier I promise.Wink

Feb. 23, 2007 at 2:47 PM Sounds like low blood sugar. You feel it more while preggo. I get it all the time while not preggo. If you cant eat something, drink some juice or suck on some candy. You need to make sure you eat. I ended up in L+D at 24 weeks cause i hadnt eaten all day and was having contractions. So eat hun, even if its something small thru out the day.

Feb. 24, 2007 at 2:28 PM I am going to have to say low blood sugar as well. When I was prego, I was @ Walmart and I wasn't hungry but I knew I needed to eat something so I got something from the deli and was going to eat it when I left. I was in the check out lane and everything started to go in circles and I felt light headed. All I remember is the cashier asking if I was ok, and me telling her that I was fine. I had fainted into my grocery cart. I was only out for a few seconds but very scary, I ended up going to the hospital. Every thing was fine after I ate and rested a little

Feb. 27, 2007 at 12:18 PM I have that same problem because I don't eat unless I am hungry. Sometimes when I get up to fast I get light headed and dizzy even almost black out. I have had to start making myself eat a little something every few hours. A cookie, apple, crackers. Just something small between meals. Your not suppose to eat large meals anyways. It is better to eat several small meals a day with light snacks in between. Eat healthy and you should have no problem and won't have to worry about gaining more weight than you really want or need to.
