All was good at the doctor's office today. They started by weighing me and I am now up 20 pounds! My blood pressure is still good and I'm feeling so much better since I started taking iron pills and modifying my diet to help my anemia. I met with my "new doc"...my ob is on maternity leave right now and is scheduled to be back one week before my due date...so we'll see which doctor I have. We heard the baby's heartbeat today and it was so strong! It averaged about 146 beats per minute and she's kicking away at my belly! I asked if he could tell the position of the baby and he felt the baby's head right down by my pelvis. That explains the pulling and stretching feeling that I have down there! I'm carrying low...which I figure is a blessing because I know that some woman carrying high have shortness of breath. The funny thing is that I still only feel her on my left side....nothing on my right! My doc didn't seem to mind that.
Oh, and I mentioned to him that despite my daily little aches and pains, everything is good now...but that glucose test incident was strange! He said that if I am ever pregnant again, I should ask specifically for the jelly bean test. He said that although it's not known to be as accurate as the regular 1 hour, it's for woman (like me) who have had negative reactions to the test. I am all about the jelly bean test next time....yummy!!!
So now my 2 week appointments begin. I am so excited that we're getting close to meeting our little baby girl. We just got her furniture today and are putting it together tomorrow during the snowstorm..:) My MIL is amazing...she's sewing all of the curtains, valance, bedding and cushions for the nursery. We picked out all of the fabrics together back in August and we have soft green and cream with a little soft pink mixed in. We already painted the room a soft, natural green right now, and my husband redid the hardwood floors and is putting up crown molding. I got this really soft and shabby oatmeal colored rug for the center of the room. It's going to be the nicest room in the house! Like I said above, we are so excited for her to be face to face with us....my mind is racing like mad though. I feel like I still have so many loose ends to meet. Christmas shopping, taking back some gifts and getting other items that we need for the baby, washing her clothes and packing my bags....ugh...there is so much to do and I feel so behind!! It will all come together though....right??? Thanks for reading..:)
