I some times wonder why God allows us to go through things in life, but He generally reveals His plan in time. When our son was born almost 10 years ago with Down Syndrome and numerous heart, stomach and respiratory problems, I wondered in what way God would use this to make our family better and in what way would we be able to use this in ministry. I now know that He had a plan for us to build up and encourage those who are starting to walk the path that we have already walked. In the past year we have had the opportunity to encourage and build up faith in several families who have had precious gifts given to them. What an awesome responsiblility to show that our children are precious gifts no matter their abilities or looks or fragileness. I see the way our children touch and minister in our own lives and in the lives of the people they are in contact with. I know my son Josh, lights up the whole world he is in. People are blessed and encouraged when they see him and interact with him. He has an innocence about him that sees no ugliness or dirtiness or differentness in others. He teaches us the way to love unconditionally, because he is a great example of loving everyone!! For those of you who have precious children, remember, THEY can teach you, if you look at them with the eyes that God sees them with. Follow their example because they have a true heart.
Blessings to all and to all a very blessed Christmas season!!!
