Here are instructions to make a ribbon angel. These are so easy and inexpensive. They make great gifts for teachers, neighbors, mail carrier, hair dresser, nurses, caterer..., decorate your packages with them, or do a tree in them. I have lots of more ideas at my site, www.heartfeltholidays.net and my group here at CafeMom, http://www.cafemom.com/group/heartfeltholidays

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love spreading Christmas Cheer!!

Purchase some wide wired ribbon. 2 1/2"

Fan fold a piece of ribbon to make 7 pleats. I just fold it off the roll. The folds are approx. 3/4" to 1".

Fan fold another piece of ribbon just like the first but with only 5 pleats.

On the 7 pleat fold, staple the top just under the edging and cut the top off.

On the 5 pleat fold, fold it over in the middle and squeeze. This will make a faint line so you can see the where the center is. Staple it on the faint line.

Now, open your fan folds. Using a low temp glue gun, glue the wings to the dress. Glue a 3/4" jingle bell on top for the head. Glue a little ribbon rose or other embellishment to the waist line. This covers the area you glued together.  Add a string through the top of the jingle bell and tie. This makes the hanger. Or you can glue a pin back to the back of it to make a pin.

I'm not sure of the original maker but I got the instructions from Lori Jean at craftsayings.

Thanks for sharing. They are beautiful.  I always try to find new ideas that me and my daughter (and Granddaughter) can do.

Dec. 1, 2007 at 2:35 PM Love the Angels! You can also make them out of paper such as wrapping paper and use a wooden bead for the head. A smaller version (out of paper) can get a pin added to the back and looks great to wear on a holiday sweater!
