Simple Things

I had such a great day with my two boys the other day. I had bought ready made gingerbread cookie dough at the store and I asked my 4 yr old if he wanted me to make them. He asked me if he can help. I never even thought about that. It was so nice making cookies together. The baby was asleep so it was just the two of us. He kept telling me how much fun he was having. I got all teary eyed when he turned to me and said " i sure like cooking with you mommy".  I really need to do stuff like that more often. He is growing up so fast. Then later I was sitting in the rocking chair with the baby with him all cuddled up against my chest singing lullabyes and christmas carols. He was so calm just looking up into my face. It makes u think about how you are the whole world to this tiny little miracle. I just keep thinking about how precious my sons are to me and how blessed I am to have them.

Dec. 3, 2007 at 2:07 AM aww that's sweet.  My 4 yr old has been cooking with me for a really long time.  everytime I get ready to start cooking she grabs a chair and pushes it to the counter and waits to mix or season for me
