I just read a post regarding someone taking exception to being wished a Merry Christmas, and it got me to thinking... I wonder what everyone here celebrates, so if you don't mind... take a second to fill us all in!

I, and I'm sure alot of other Mom's out there, really don't know much about all of the traditions of other cultures.

So, take a second, and let us all know what you celebrate in your house... and what goes along with your traditions. I think it would be great for us all to know a little bit more about what other traditions take place this time of year, as I know there are many.

Thank you to all who take the time to respond... I'd put in a poll, but I know I'm clueless, and would inevitably end up leaving at least one major holiday out, and don't want to offend anyone.

  Thanks, Jeni

Happy Holidays, to you and yours!

PS- I'm adding this after the fact... a few people have mentioned that they really liked the idea behind this post... and since we haven't gotten much diversity here yet, it would be great to get it bumped up a little to give more people the opportunity to offer their input, and let us all in on some understanding of their traditions! Thanks again... hope we can get a bunch of different responses, that we can all learn something from them!

Hey ladies... thanx again for all the responses... this has been a blast... I think the post will only be on this page for a couple more hours, so if you've got anything to add... do so now. Happy Holidays again, and I'm so glad we were all able to have some fun with this!!!

Dec. 3, 2007 at 4:45 PM Sorry, I should have stated... I celebrate Christmas... but not really in the religious sense.... it's all about our kids... and the lights... and the tree (I grew up on a Christmas tree farm... so that helps). I love this time of year, and wish that the good cheer, and friendliness carried forward to the rest of the year... when else do you ever hear people wishing each other good tidings... whatever they're beliefs be? I think it's great!

Dec. 3, 2007 at 4:54 PM we celebrate Christmas with the lights and gifts and all.  But in my direct family there is no religious too it , but in mine and my husbands house its also about why we celebrate (the birth of baby Jesus) and why we get presents. NOt just because we want free gifts from others.  I like this post thanks
