Our little cafe has significantly grown over the last few months...

Imagine the power behind so many voices.

The question is:

Feb. 24, 2007 at 5:40 PM Okay, my stomach is in knots.  I am the most naive person ever.  I had absolutely no knowledge of woman/girl love.  I almost wish I didn't read that.  But, because I did (Courtney, your posts are always worth reading), I am one more person that is aware.  So, that's what everyone should do.......EXPOSE them ALL!!!  Can someone write something similar suited for mass email with links included?  I'll flood every inbox in my address book and demand they pass it on.  Awareness is key.  Write to Oprah!  Write to 20/20!  At the very least, identify these people as perverts and criminals!

Feb. 24, 2007 at 5:44 PM I went to the post you recomended. As i'm sure is true of most moms, I'm busy and only think of these issues when I read or hear about them in the news. It would be, I think, easier for those of us in this community who wanted to be involved to unite and form a group. I'm thinking a website, members, lobbying our elected officials by e-mail,snail mail, and in person. i can see us getting organized and lobbying all over the country on specific days, letting the registered sex offenders in our areas that we belong to a group wo is watching and vigilant. I guess the first step is finding out how many of us there are at Cafe' Mom who would like to be involved.

Courtney, thanks for helping to spread the word.

V8mom,
Let's not dilute what is already being done so well, until we think we can ADD and not detract.  Please check out the Protect link at the bottom of the journal (mine) that Courtney is so generously linking us to.  And take the time to read some of Vachss' articles (linked on the journal); you'll find it empowering.

BCK1000,
if you send me a private message with your email address, I will send you what you are looking for.  It's a great idea; thanks for thinking of it.

Feb. 24, 2007 at 6:48 PM I went to both sites and have to say that I'm sickened by both of them!  The ACLU used to be a good organization, helping to right wrongs of social injustice.  Now they're saying that it's okay for a group to advocate and show how to "love" children?!?  I don't think so!  I might not be able to stop the ACLU, but dammit, I can add my voice to stop the other sites!

OMG OMG!!!  I just read one of the open diaries and I am SHOCKED I cannot believe this website is allowed to remain on the internet...This is bad...The post I was reading was justifying it being ok to love a child in a sexual manner...I would end up in prison for murder if someone spoke like this and acted on their pleasures on one of my boys...I cannot believe this and I think I am going to research what can be done to prevent websites like this,,,As far as I can see it is harboring an ok for child sexual predators..AND I am not ok with this....If we say we need to prevent sexual predators than I would think sto[p them any and everyway we can...HMMM I wonder how many act upon their desires after reading one of those God awful diaries...Just sickens me....Jen

Feb. 24, 2007 at 9:44 PM I don't have the stomach to look at it either, but I would love to do something about it.  As a former social worker I am all for social justice, and this is one major injustice.  I guess the best thing to do is get the word out and not allow the persons responsible to be in the shadows, but expose them and their filth...

Feb. 24, 2007 at 10:45 PM I'm starting to understand all too clearly why people started witch-hunts.  I don't mean the way that we use that term today, I mean real actual grab-your-torch-and-someting-shap-and-meet-us-outside-witch-hunts.  And I don't condone violence.
