Me, Myself, and I

Whatever i feel at the moment!!!

Absolutely.  I know i didnt learn how to read till the third grade and my daughter reads at a fifth grade leve in the second.  I didn't learn abstract math till fourth or fifth grade and they to learn it in the second.  I think part of it is because in order to compete as adults they have toknow so much more than before and because its so hard to pay for college that many parents (ill admit im one) start coaching their children about getting good grades so much earlier and some of it still is that there is so much exposre to so many things how can they not be smart.  ANyway i love that they are so smart maybe that means they will be smart enough to not make alot of my mistakes!!!

Dec. 6, 2007 at 8:57 AM It's not that they are smarter, it is that they are taught things earlier.      I was reading, telling time, and doing basic arithmetic before I went to kindergarten.   I taught one of my siblings to read three letter words when he was two and by the time he went to kindergarten he was far beyond the reading level of a second grader.
