My little guy is really getting the hang of walking now which is so exciting and fun but scary too.  He has fallen countless times and hits his head nearly every time.  He looks so abused right now and I feel just aweful for the poor little guy.  The other day he fell and hit it really hard at Sears and it instantly bruised. It was just going away when he fell again today at Burger King and re-bruised the same spot.  Those floors are not kid friendly.  It's like hitting concrete.  He has been a trooper but it just kills me every time.  I am seriously thinking of having him wear his bike helmet like a big nerd until he gets a little more stable.  Anyway, that's my sob story of the day.......

Dec. 6, 2007 at 10:04 PM LOL....my son went thru the same thing. i remember taking him to his 12 month check up feeling like I had some explaining to do cause his head was so bruised. As I'm telling my doc, he stops me and says, "Honey, if he didnt ever have bruises, I'd worry more."

I'm going through the same thing. I'm not one of those call-the-doctor-at-every-little-thing mommies, but I certainly did call when I thought his head might be cracked due to a fall. He has fallen from a chair on to a wood floor. Thud! It was loud so it musthave done some damage. Fallen off the couch and hit his head on the corner of the wooden coffee table. Fallen backwards off his sisters back onto the wood floor duing a piggy back. And numerous other incidents. And each time, my doctor said, if both his pupils are the same size and he's not vomiting blood, then he should be fine.

Dec. 6, 2007 at 11:13 PM McGavyn is now 2 and he's still falling all the time! Last summer I took him with Lexi and me to the eye doctor for her and he fell and hit his head on something there and there was a huge knot instantly! McGavyn is always doing stuff like that. As soon as they start to walk they always look abused. LOL!

Scarlett never really has bruised from falling she got the hang of it really soon, but anytime she did fall I always freaked out! My nephew is another story he falls all the time and has even had to go to the emergency to get stiches, it was so bad, he is a few months older than Scarlett.Anyway.. He will get the hang of it!
