I was able to get up before the girls again today. Yay. I got everything ready and had to wake them up to get dd1 to school on time. Once again I had to threaten her with sitting in the director's office if she wouldn't go into her classroom. I only had to count to two and she stepped over the threshold. dd1 and I went back home and watched signing time via her request before we left. I paid some bills on the computer while she watched Elmo's World. She'll play if dd1 is here but only wants to watch tv if she doesn't have my complete attention. She was picking up the signs on Leah's Farm really fast. I'm going to loose track of what sign she is making since she doesn't have the dexterity for most signs yet. We ate lunch and went to pick up dd1. We got home and put dd2 down for a nap. That gave me three hours to get chores done and play with dd1 before tae kwon do. I worked on the computer for an hour. Then dd1 was bored. She came in and called Grammy but then stopped talking, handed me the phone, picked up a highlighter and started marking on bills. I had to get off the phone and give her a time out. I had to threaten her with not going to tae kwon do if she kept trying to hit me. She settled down right away. After her time out we talked. I'm trying to train her to use words instead of impulsively acting on her feelings, which gets her in deep trouble. Like, I feel blank when you blank. In her words it would probably sound like I feel angry when you won't let me do whatever I want to do. We went upstairs, I fixed dinner and we played I Spy go fish while she ate. Then I fixed myself dinner. I kept waiting for dd2 to wake up but she didn't. I fixed her dinner, went in and woke her up and we left for tae kwon do. She had two and half hours of sleep by then. Her condensing down to one nap a day sometimes works out for us. dd1 spent the whole car ride, this place is twenty min. away, but it's free lessons for three months so I'm dealing with it, talking on a pretend cell phone. Her pretend brother Alex kept calling her and telling her about a party. She was asking me questions so she could tell him what time she could come to the party. We get there right on time b/c I had to wake dd2 up. We go in and dd1 won't take off her socks and shoes. So I count and when I get to three (via 1-2-3 Magic) we leave. She throws a fit outside so I talk to her and she promises to follow directions. We go back in and an instructor comes over to tell her to take her socks and shoes off. She does slowly and then I take her to the class room. I literally block her escape route with my body until the assistant can come over and get her. Can we say she loves negative attention or what. Grrr. dh got stuck at work. He has tomorrow off, had meetings today, and has to finish a project so that other people can install a product this weekend. Bummer. He was going to meet me and take the girls home. dd2 liked watching dd1 in her lesson. She ate dinner while practicing jumping. She crouches down to the ground and then springs up in the air, but her feet never leave the ground. I take the girls with me to the first of my errands. We go to Target and they are pretty good but there are a lot of people there so dd1 is upset b/c she can't help me push the cart. I hate shopping, esp when there are a lot of people. I have no patience for people that stand around blocking things I want to look at. We are almost ready to go. I'm looking at one last thing and dd2 starts a get my sister off of me cry. Her big sister is biting her hair and little sister is trying to pull away. Not a good thing. I separate them and then call dh and ask what things are looking like. He can leave. Yippee. We meet him at Goodwill and I finish up my errands. I hated that I didn't get everything done and I want to buy junk food so instead I bought a beta fish. I felt sorry for it in that little cup and wanted to give it some place bigger to live. dd1 really had a good time at her tae kwon do. I'm so happy our friends gave us their door prize since they didn't want to use it. She was thrilled after class and came out and gave dd2 a big hug. dd2 was throwing and kicking a ball today. |
