| It’s Sat. night... |
dd1 was so cute last night. She got up and went to the bathroom then went in the guest bedroom and went back to sleep. dh said he noticed it when we were getting ready for bed b/c she turned on the light and shut the door. This morning she told me she had a dream that she went to sleep in the blue room (our nickname for the guest bedroom since I painted it blue). I laughed and told her that it really happened and daddy took her back to her bed. dd2 was ready to go this morning. She didn't want to eat breakfast. She brought me her house slippers, a few books, musical instruments. I finally told her it was time to eat. She ate a few bites and was finished. Then she asked for baby signing time in sign language. I said okay. I needed to go downstairs anyway. I was trying to leave to run some errands. Nana and Auntie took dd1 out to a Christmas party. In the mean time I needed to grab a few things and dh came upstairs. She got so mad she threw herself down on the ground and started crying. She wanted to go downstairs desperately. I finished up with things I needed to do. dh had to check the work computer for a project. dd2 watched signing time. I was getting ready to leave when dh said their was a problem. I went in on the couch and went to sleep while dd2 played and watched tv. The next thing I know I hear this sound that was unusual for dd2 to make. I woke up and looked around and didn't see her. Then I look over towards my feet and there she is sitting on the couch. Woohoo. We were both happy. That was her first time to use the stool to get on the couch. She knew to take the stool to the couch, but hasn't been able to figure out how to use it to climb until today. This couch is older than I am and very low to the ground so I wasn't that worried about her falling down. I was surprised she got up there without me feeling her moving around. If I did I bet I thought it was a cat. I left after lunch and didn't get home until almost 5pm. The girls were eating dinner and both decided they were finished when they saw me. I told them they didn't have to stop eating just b/c I was there. dd2 wouldn't eat anything else and dh told dd1 to eat a few more bites and then she was done. They played school for a while and dh and I cleaned the kitchen. I should say that dd1 followed dd2 around trying to get her to do school things. It didn't work very well. dd2 still thinks that dd1 is trying to take things away from her. We had a kissing session and took photos. We started the photo shoot b/c dd2 got into the recycle bin and got out a clear plastic container. She was squishing her nose up and it was so funny I asked dh to get the camera. Then dd1 didn't think she was getting enough attention so I started the kissing game so everyone could get there picture taken. I can't wait to see the pictures. dd1 put on a concert for us. She was in her first school program last night. We talked about how she probably got her love of singing from her birth-mom since she wrote that she liked to sing in the school choir. Then dd1 said, for real. I said yes and she got shy about it and didn't want to talk anymore. I had been interviewing her after her concert and she didn't want everyone in the audience to know about it. 4 years ago today is when we got the phone call from our agency letting us know that we had a baby girl. They are great memories and I shared them with dd1. I asked her if she could guess who the little girl was and she named everyone but herself. I told her it was her and we were so happy. Yay. |
