I almost hate to write this, because I don't want to jinx anything, but things have been pretty good lately!

I have been busy.  VERY busy trying to get my official HypnoBirthing certification completed.  It's pretty labor-intensive and has taken up a lot of my spare time--usually in increments of ten-fifteen minutes.

Aside from that, my darling husband and I have been spending a lot of time working on US.
This has been a dream come true.  I adore attention from this man, and lately, I've been getting it!
I do love my "internet time," but all things considered, I prefer devoting my extra moments to him.

Thanksgiving was quiet and uneventful--which was nice!  We had a nice couple of days just hanging out, eating and being "boring."   Bret's lovely aunties came from San Antonio--Loretta went home the same day, but Lila stayed until the following Monday.  They are both so sweet and charming--classic southern ladies!

And soon, Christmas will be upon us.  It will be bittersweet for me:  It will be Chevelle's first Christmas, but Wyatt will be with his father--the first time in his whole life that he won't be with me for Christmas.

I don't think I can ever express just how much I love my son.  He has always been a true blessing.

Bret and I have been talking a lot lately about having our own business.  What we really want is a spa/wellness center.  We are just beginning to check into all the work it would take to get a Small Business Administration loan.  (Ugh--what a process!!!)

In the meantime, I have been focusing on HypnoBirthing.
I am also going to teach etiquette, (and hopefully baton twirling) in the future.  I still want to organize a book club, too!
Another endeavor of mine is to get an online lingerie store, and there's always writing.
(When am I supposed to find the time to do all of this stuff!?!?!)

Bret is still working his call center job, but they force-flex him a lot, which is good, because it's as if we're newlyweds again, but it's bad because the paycheck is smaller...
He's also teaching guitar lessons on the side, which I think is very cool.  I love it when he plays guitar!

Chevelle is almost five months old and amazes me more everyday!  She tries SO hard to crawl AND talk--I have a feeling we have a little genius on our hands.

So, that is it, really.

Things have been good--really good--but I do find myself missing the west coast and my family.
I'm not so homesick for my old Oregon haunts as I am for California, where Bret's and my relationship first took off...
...where we got married...where our daughter was conceived...where I had a great job at a wonderful interior design firm...where the weather was the very definition of "mild" and "predictable"...where the traffic was manageable and it only took five minutes to get to Wal Mart...where the sound of the ocean was something we heard every single day...

I told Bret a few nights ago, when I got a craving for sushi from a place called Yamoto's, (also about five minutes from our home) that if we won the lottery, we could eat there tomorrow.

Of course, we don't play the lottery, so I just have to be content with a little idea known as "someday."
