Shutterbugmama's Journal

I've tried to be quiet; It's impossible.

I think I just might be!

When Halloween was on its way, I started buying candy...it was EVERYWHERE, candy overkill on every end-cap, in every supermarket, drugstore, Convenience Store.  Well, I ATE INTO IT!  And I ate into it, and I ate into it.  I gained 10 lbs by Thanksgiving when I began to buy the PUMPKIN PIES that were on every dag-on endcap!  5 more lbs, and Whoa Nelly....stop the show...my pants wont button.

I've been good since the day after Mom's AMAZING Turkey Day meal, and I've lost the weight I gained (I gain and lose weight very easily, which is good, I guess).  Clean diet, fruits, veggies, WHOLE FOOD!  Grains, legumes, the OCASSIONAL bout with my sweet tooth....but I'm finally back on track, until...

KNOCK KNOCK!!!

I look outside and HOLY GOD, it the neighbor...and she's holding (DUM, Dum DUmmmmmmm....) A PLATE WITH PRETTY PAPER AND A BOW!  Dont answer it!  Shhhshshhhhh.....everyone quiet, maybe she'll go away, and think we went for a walk.....quiet kids....

I felt bad, so, like PANDORAS BOX, I opened the door.

Here I sit, staring at my 15 lbs...somehow, its found me.  Its like that Twilight Zone episode where the little old lady is sure that death has been rapping at her door...remember that one?  Yep...its death...she opens the door, and dies.  I OPENED THE DOOR!  I took the plate, with a smile and a thank you, but inside I was thinking, "NNOOOOOOOOOOooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Can I regift food?  Am I a re-gifter when I try to ditch the death of my waistline?

Dec. 12, 2007 at 4:10 PM Send it to school with your kids to share with the teachers.  Just think of it as a gift that you don't have to make for them! lol  Yes, regifting food is fine as long as it's not past the expiration date! lol

Dec. 12, 2007 at 7:54 PM So I should probably not mail you a bunch of Christmas cookies, Christmas candy, homemade blackberry jam and some of those yummy chocolates in the gold wrapper? Just know that the thought was there. I've been dying to buy you some of that (is it called Larouche?) choclate and fix up a little goody basket. But that stuff wouldn't ship well, I think. Maybe I should just buy that chocolate for myself? Nope, I don't need any extra waistline. In fact, I NEED to drop 20 pounds ASAP. I'm just hoping that your good eating habits will wear off on me. Like by some kind of long distance, best friend osmosis thing. I could also use some more exercise (or any exercise to be honest-walking to and from the van to load kids up doesn't count, I guess).
