My excitement is mounting! Our next Disney cruise is about to be booked for February..............................
2009!!!
Alas, that doesn't make it any less exciting. In fact the anticipation of the trip is almost as exciting as the trip itself. Almost.
When we cruised on the Disney Wonder in March this year we knew immediately that we'd found the best way to travel. If you've never been on cruise you probably don't know what I mean. It is fantastic to say the least. Sure, you're on a boat in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight at times. And the rooms are small and you cannot escape from your family unless you plan on going for a major swim. But it's a great experience.
Our cruise was "Wonder"ful. And our next cruise will be "Magic"al. (For those that are not Disney buffs... that's a play on words.... the name of the ship we were on was the Wonder, and the name of the ship we'll be traveling on next time is..... the Magic!)
But I digress.
In the next year and two months I'm sure I'll write plenty of Disney Cruise related journal entries. When I'm in Disney vacation planning mode that's all I think about. I have a one track mind. I eat Disney. I sleep Disney. I dream about Disney. I breathe Disney. I AM Disney. Unfortunately this has it's downfalls.
Dh is already tired of talking about. He's heard the same things, over and over, and over and over again. He's ready for a vacation from the vacation-speak. I like to call it "vacationese." It's my own language.
So back to the details.
In February of 2009 we will be sailing the ocean blue on the Disney Magic. We have two rooms on hold right now (courtesy of my very favorite travel agent who also happens to be a Disney freak) and after one more discussion with my in-laws this evening, we will be paying our deposit (let's not even go there... it's a gob of moolah) either tonight or tomorrow. The cruise will leave out of Port Canaveral, FL on February 7 of 2009, and we'll stop at Key West, Florida. Cozumel, Mexico. Grand Cayman Island. And lastly (but absolutely not least) at Disney private island.... Castaway Cay (pronounced "key" for those not in the Disney freak mode like myself). Castaway Cay is beyond description. Gorgeous. Perfection.
Now, for minor details we are sailing for 7 nights in a category 10 room. However we are... dun, dun,da dah! In a "secret" porthole room! How frickin' exciting is that? (if you are a Disney buff you know exactly what I'm talking about) This secret porthole room is basically a category 9 room with a giant porthole, ocean view, yada yada, but because it has a partially "obstructed" view we get it for a category 10 price! Woohoo! Go us!
I'm beyond excited. I'm ecstatic. And I have to keep the excitement inside because we probably are not going to tell the kids until next Christmas! HOW IN THE HELL AM I GOING TO KEEP THIS A SECRET FOR A SOLID YEAR????????!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
As I mentioned before, my in-laws, whom I absolutely adore, are going with us. My MIL is a hoot and she has cruised one time before for her 40 birthday. My FIL has never cruised and was so pleased when I found out that they both wanted to go. The kids will love having a set of grandparents to share the experience with. And it'll be nice to have two extra sets of hands just in case!
I cannot begin to explain how stupidly excited I am. I feel so stupid being this excited! lol
So, I'm warning you now if you're on my friends list.... I will probably never shut up about this. If you'd like to rethink our friendship that's completely understandable..... LOL
And for those of you who are Disney freaks like me, think about joining the new group I started recently called Disney Cruisers. I'd love to talk Disney with ya! http://www.cafemom.com/group/30972
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more details!
