I am sad, but also happy to say that my homeschooling journey will be coming to an end Sept 8, 2008.

I will be starting a new job then and will not have time to homeschool any longer.  However, this is a good thing as everything that I have wanted to accomplish with my children I have been able to!  As many of you know my eldest son returned to public school this year and is doing fantastic!

If at any time I feel that my kids are not doing well in public school than I will without any qualms pull them out again and homeschool.  However, I am not worried about it as my kids are looking forward to this adventure, and we have moved to a new town where the schools are very good.  We are moving into a new chapter in our lives and will meet it head on.

Wish us luck ladies, and send some positive energy our way!

Dec. 17, 2007 at 11:26 AM I understand how you feel. We homeschooled our girls for the first time last school year - up until April of this year. While we enjoyed it immensely , we were shocked & appalled at what they didnt learn in public school. We worked hard to make sure that they were taught the necessities in order to understand the basics of math and language arts. Both my husband & I then started working and it was really hard to continue homeschooling. So they went back into public school - more educated than if they had started the school year in public school.  So it was good and we regret that we couldn't continue but in the end it is working out for all of us. So good luck and don't give up.

Dec. 17, 2007 at 11:39 AM Congrats on the job! It sucks you won't be homeschooling anymore, but I'm sure your kids will do fine in public school. Consider yourself positively energized!
