A Tribute to my Jesse...he turns two on 12-21!!!

My fourth baby is about to be 2.  I cannot believe it!!  How is it possible that two whole years has gone by already??  He is my last little baby so it is hard to believe that tomorrow, he is a toddler and no longer a baby.

I found out I was pregnant with him when we were house hunting for the house we live in.  I couldn't figure out why I was so nauseous.  Yup...you would think that after having 3 other pregnancies, I would have a clue..LOL.  I had a normal pregnancy with him, just very moody.  Morning sickness lasted until about 5 months but I only threw up once.  The day that Ryder ate chinchilla food right in front of me, that was the day I threw up...LOL.  I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks and had contractions from that point on every day.  At 37 weeks, I convinced my midwife that enough was enough.  Constant contractions, being in pain from his big body and constant kicking and moving and being 4 cm for 2 weeks was enough to convince her.  My bag of water was bulging too so that was a dangerous thing. 

So on December 20th, she decided that the 21st would be the day.  I went in at 11am and was still 4cm.  They started the induction around noon.  At 4pm, I was checked and told that I was still 4cm and although I wasn't in much pain, if I wanted an epidural at all, I would have to get one right then and there.  So the wimp that I am got it then.  At 5pm, still 4 cm, it was time to get things moving so the dr broke my water, finally!!  At 6pm, I was in extreme pain on only one side.  That damn epidural didn't do its job.  My midwife was assisting the dr in a csection as was the anesthesiologist so I was shit out of luck.  At 7pm, I was checked and told I was 10 cm...well no duh..the pain and pressure gave that one away but I was told not to push until the midwife got back.  I told the nurse to think again and started to push.  Scott has seen this done plenty of times so if he had to catch, so be it.  The midwife arrived at 7:30 and out came Jesse at 7:51pm.  He didn't cry for a while so I was very nervous.  Finally...I heard that cry. 

About 15 mins or so after I was done being stitched up, I started to feel bad, really bad.  I turned completely white and couldnt speak or move.  The nurse came running over and started to look panicked.  She started to jump, literally jump, up and down on my uterus and blood was shooting from the table to the wall.  I painted the walls red without even trying.  I had large blood clots causing trouble.  In the middle of all of that, my blood pressure started to drop and fast.  At one point, it was 50/30.  Not good.  Time to get meds into my IV but my veins all collapsed so it took 3 nurses and 15 sticks to get it back in.  Oh yeah..that was fun.  Finally, by 9pm, I am feeling better, almost alive again. 

Jesse was 8 lbs 2 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.  So beautiful.  He looked just like JD did when he was born.  Seeing him and holding him made all the craziness go away. 

The next day, the doctor came in and asked if I wanted my tubes tied and I said, "Well my husband will not bring me home unless they are so unless you got room here for me and my 4 kids...the answer is yes!"  So then my factory got shut down for good.  I am ok with that decision now more than ever..LOL

Happy Birthday Jesse!!!!  I can't believe you are 2.  Where did our little man go?  I hope you have a great day and just remember all the Conklin girls are sending you a great big birthday kiss.
