Don't get me wrong, I really do love my step-sons, but they drive me crazy!  Even Mike is relieved when it's time to take them back.

We picked them up on Christmas Day.  I had to go in to work for a few hours that day, so I didn't spend alot of time with them, and then we went to Grandma's house for the evening.  They started acting up, so we left early.

Next morning, after telling them to go to sleep umpteen hundred times, they finally fell asleep around 3am.  Fine and good for them...Chris and I had to be up at 5am for some testing (EEG and MRI) that was scheduled for that day.  We spend the whole day getting the testing done in two diferent hospitals in two different cities, about 45 minutes from each other.  It was a long day and we were tired and hungry by the time we got back home.

I called Mike to let him know that we were about 20 minutes away, and he said that he had warmed up some leftover ham and sides from the day before, and had made the boys clean up all of the twist-ties, packaging, and wrappers that was all over the floor from 7 kids opening Christmas presents.  We were looking forward to a hot meal, a clean house, and some sleep.

When we got there, I started to grab plates for Chris and me, when I discovered that all of the food was gone.  Everything!  I grouched to Mike that he should have called me so I could have at least stopped somewhere and grabbed a burger or something.  He said that there was plenty for the two of us.  BUZZZ! Wrong answer!  Not a scrap was left.

It turns out that Chase (age 10) had eaten all of his food (and Mike overloads the plate so no one goes hungry), then got more, then ate Conlan's, then got MORE!  Then Jessica informed me that he threw up in my kitchen garbage can.  EWWW!  Better yet, he knocked the liner loose and threw up in between the garbage bag and can.  DOUBLE EWWW!  Not a happy mama at this point!  Tired, hungry, crabby, disgusted, and now I have to take the garbage can outside (remember it's December in Pittsburgh!) and scrub it out.

At this point, one of the stepsons shot my dog with a plastic pellet form a airsoft gun that he brought from home.  The dog yelps, turns around, and sees my other dog walking past.  I guess the first dog throught the other dog bit her, because she tore into her.  Now I have a Rottweiler and a Boxer fighting in the dining room.  They ripped open two of the garbage bags full of twist-ties and little bits of cardboard packaging.  Along with the obvious garbage, I also found a baby sock, a hat, 3 toys that were new, one that wasn't even opened yet, a full box of brand new crayons, and 2 CDs, in their cases...one was Nickelback and the other was Sinatra.  We had to go through all of the rest of the garbage and picked out the rest of the stuff that shouldn't have been thrown away.
