Well, surgery for Isabella Chenchen is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) at 7:15 a.m. I think she kinda sorta understands. The being-three thing, coupled with the language barrier having only been here a few months, makes it hard to tell just how much she gets it. But when I asked her what was happening tomorrow, she pointed to her mouth and made the sign for sleeping. So I figure that's a good indicator (she's having a cleft palate repaired - more about which is discussed on my other blog, http://writes-and-wrongs.blogspot.com -- you can just read the posts with label "Red Thread" or "Cleft Issues").
After the surgery, it's drinkable foods only for TWO weeks, and "no-nos" on her arms (restraints so that she can't bend at the elbow and get fingers (or things) into her mouth. Fingers crossed we can make a game of this!!

Any and all good wishes for surgery and recovery appreciated!

And now, I'm off to bed.
Probably will not be online much over the next few days ...
