So I've been pregnant or nursing for 3 1/2 years so I can't and don't want to take a lot of medication. I have a mildewy or moldy smell in my ears. Yes, I know, really wierd and gross, but there you have it. I can't seem to get any answers to what is causing it or how to deal with it. I have tried rinsing my ears with rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide washes, sinus rinses, using ear plugs in the shower to prevent water entering the ear canal and I have been to an ear nose and throat specialist who was an idiot and wanted to cover up the smell with a cortesone cream. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF THIS AFFLICTION? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I feel like I am going crazy and I want to get pregnant again in June so it will be another 3 + years before I can get some relief. Thanks!!!

Mar. 14, 2007 at 2:32 PM My son has something of the same thing, his sorta smells like a belly button. Our Dr and an ENT says it's from soap that doesn't get rinsed off well or gets doewn in the ear. Maybe try changing your soap/shampoo. Or maybe just rinsing extra well. It works at times for us, but then it somes back..So if you find anything that works, let me know.
