On June 30th I was 25 weeks pregnant, and that day we were in Canton Texas at my aunt and uncles house having a 4th of July party. After watching fireworks that night we got in the car and headed home, it was about an hour drive. About 30 minutes into it my back started hurting, and when we were almost home my stomach started cramping, I thought I just needed to go to the bathroom, and walk around. So we got home and I sat on the toilet and just moaned in pain, I went to heath (DF) and my mom in tears from these cramps.
So we started timing them, they were 2-1/2 to 3 minutes apart. Eventually I had to go to the bathroom again, and when I did there was a HUGE bloody show. We immediately called the doctor and he told us to come to the hospital.
It was about a 10 minute drive and when we got there I walked from the emergency room, down to the opposite side of the hospital, to the second floor (stopped to go pee on the way) and up to Triage. I told them I was only 25 weeks and they figured oh it's nothing important, she will probably just spend the night and go home.. blah blah blah.
Well after asking me several questions the told me to go into the bathroom and put my gown on and take a urine sample. As soon as I sat on the toilet I felt like I needed to push, I figured "oh it's probably just my mucus plug, that can come out, no big deal." Well, it was a big deal, because it just kept on coming, I didn't think it was my mucus plug for long! . I called for help and after one nurse saw what was going on she called in help, so I was surrounded by 6 nurses. I was freaking out and no one would tell me what was going on. They got me to the bed and told me that I had a bulging water bag. Which means my full water bag was coming out, about 6 inches out.
So they called the doctor and started asking me all these questions and stuck the iv in me and the doctor finally got there. He did a sonogram and at first Storie's heart rate was fine and she was head down, and when he checked again her heart rate was going down fast and he told me they had to do an emergency c-section.
So they took me away into the O.R. and left Heath and my mom behind. The doctor did another sonogram and her heart rate was ok again, he checked me and after being in labor for only 1 and 1/2 hours I was fully dilated, so he decided to let me push, we tried for about 5 to 7 minutes but her heart rate just kept dropping, so they put me to sleep.
At 1:32 am on July 1st,
Storie Addalyn McClain was born.
she was 1 lb 14 ounces 13.3 inches long.
she was also born on my mom's birthday :)
I woke up to being in horrible pain and seeing lot's of people surrounding me but no baby in my stomach or in the room. They told me that she is stable but in critical condition. and that she is still a girl :) She is now in the N.I.C.U untill she is big enough to come home, hopefully soon.
I had to wait until I was off the morphine drip and my iv and catheter was out , and I had to be up to the bathroom twice before I could go see her, and 10 hours later that was all done. I was supposed to be on a liquid diet for 24 hours and 10 hours later, I was getting crackers and juice. Let me tell you after getting nothing but ice chips all day that was heaven!
Well I was off to see my baby and even with all the wires all over her body, she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I was completely in awe that she had been inside of me just one day before.
Here are some pics of my beautiful baby girl.

my first look at my new baby girl

her daddy cupping her little body

her tight grip on my finger

she had lot's of gadget's all over her tiny body
She was off of the vent 4 days after birth! Such a fighter!!

what she looked like a couple of days later

everything off of her face for a breathing treatment.
So that is the story of my darling daughter Storie!

Comments:
Storie was born very sick infected with Strep B and the doctors say I was a carrier. 1 in 3 women carry it, and there is a 1% chance that their babies will get infected with it in the womb, and we are that 1%. It's very unlikely that this will happen with any of my other children because we'll know about it and I will start getting treated for it as soon as I get pregnant.
