My mom and sisters wreck

My mom and sister were in a bad wreck last night. It was some guy with road rage who caused it and kept on going. So here is what I know.  She was exiting the tunnel in Bluefield (VA,WV) and was in the passing lane going past a slower car in the slow lane.  She was not going fast enough for the liking of the guy behind her. He was flashing his lights and tailgating her. He cut off the car she was trying to pass and then cut in front of her and SLAMMED ON HIS BRAKES. My mom swerved right in front of the car she was passing, realized she was about to hit him and swerved back left and over corrected. She spun the car 4-5 times and hit an embankment twice.  When they came to haul off the car it was buried in the embankment partially and the rear wheels were off the ground.  Parts of the car are still embedded in the embankment.  To make things worse my pregnant sister (8 months pregnant) came up to the accident scene and freaked.  My brother said the car is covered in blood. Both her and my sisters faces hit the airbag on the first impact. There was no airbag for the second time they hit the embankment and my mom's face hit the steering wheel and my sisters face hit the windshield. ( Sounded like a partial seatbelt malfunction to me). My mom's back is hurting her really bad. She has already had two back surgeries which resulted in the removal of 4 crushed disks and 2 spurs. They did not have an MRI machine at the hospital so she has to see her regular doctor tomorrow to get scheduled for an MRI. Both of their faces are really messed up. They were released from the hospital last night. My mom's mouth is so beaten and swollen that she can hardly open it let alone eat.  My brother and sister in law took her home.  My other sister had to be made to sit down and somehow calmed because she started going into labor. I live about 6 1/2 hours away so I was freaking out.

The sad part is the guy who caused it got away.  The only thing we know is that he was driving a VAN.

Several people stopped to help my mom and the State Trooper was going to give her a ticket.  My sister got "righteous" ( her words) with the Trooper (lucky she wasn't arrested) and my brother and witnesses talked to her also.  As far as I know my mom didn't get a ticket.  It wasn't her fault anyway.

They are home now and in a lot of pain.

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated. I hope they find the IDIOT  who caused this.

Jan. 6, 2008 at 1:24 PM I'm so sorry to hear about the accident.  I am glad they are all alive, even though they are battered and bruised, and probably traumatized.  I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Jan. 6, 2008 at 8:19 PM I could nearly swear I left a comment here earlier...hmmm...well maybe I left too fast to share in my thought bubble and post and forgot to come back.  I have prayed for them a couple times today.  I hope their injuries heal soon...and fully.  I hope they catch the guy...maybe by another witness giving some information.  I hope mommy and baby will be healthy too.  (now I really have deja vu...did you accidentally delete my other comment?  maybe?)

My prayers are with them! My friend got into in accident 9 months pregnant and the baby did just fine. Reassure her it will be alright. Our bellies are made especially for them and we have a lot of protection around the baby.
