I've been thinking about it a lot lately. It may not get you the most thanks and it may not make you rich or famous, but it is truely awesome. Whenever I get sick and tired of my kids, I just remind myself what a wonderful gift it really is and how lucky I am. Not every woman gets to be a mom. Who would I be if I weren't a mommy? Would I be the same person?

I went through this thing where I felt really bad while trying to adjust to being a stay at home mom.  I have always worked since I was fifteen, so it was a big change.  I love it now though!  One thing that made me really feel a lot better was something I found in one of my parenting magazines.  It helped me reaffirm my new identity so much that I cut it out and hung it on a bulletin board in our office.  It says, "Grain of truth: A stay at home mom's duties are worth $134,121 a year, says Salary.com.  A paid mom who works outside the home would earn $85,876 on top of her other wages".  Now that kinda puts things into perspective!  I think being a mom has to be one of the most underappreciated and underpaid (lol- does anyone get paid for being a parent?) jobs.  If I wouldn't have had Kennedy, I would be done with nursing classes now and be an RN.  I don't regret a thing though!
