20 years ago, I had purchased from a long-gone body-toning spa, a weight management booklet called 1,2,3 A Brand New Me by Mike and Penny Wells.  Interestingly, nothing really new has happened in the last 20 years with regard to maintaining healthy weight.  It still discusses detoxification, supplementing with necessary enzymes and nutrients, eating healthy, exercise, social and spiritual aspects as all being components.  It is still one of my favorite references for balanced meal planning.

So what has gone wrong?  I really hate to say, are we a society of synthetics and unhealthy fillers, immediate gratification, high stress and quick fixes?  It's time to step back and re-evaluate what's really important in life.  No diet will be successful long-term, without a dietary lifestyle modification.  With dietary lifestyle modifications, there would probably be no reason for a weight-loss diet.  A person doesn't become overweight overnight or typically resolve it overnight either.  Unfortunately, due to massive food production techniques, our soils are depleted of vital nutrients and consequently, there is a very real need to use dietary supplements, as well as, recognizing and making dietary lifestyle changes.

It takes patience and the understanding that we are going to make mistakes along the way. Keeping in mind, two steps forward and one step back, still puts you ahead one step.  (These principles apply to all areas of life, for that matter.)

"Rediscovering" the following 7 Steps in Changing list from the booklet, thought I'd share with you.....

1)  You must hear the truth or receive knowledge that you did not have previously.

2) You must accept this new knowledge and believe it with all your heart.

3) You must practice this new knowledge you have gained, by having an awareness or consciousness of that gained knowledge.

4) You must start taking steps to put what you have learned into action.

5) Your lifestyle wil become automatic by your new knowledge and you will form new habits.

6) You must modify your relationships in order to enhance your new lifestyle. As you well know, nothing stays the same.

7) You will be releasing past experiences and the relationships that hamper your personal growth and development.  All that you can take into your future of constant change and development is the knowledge you have gained.

Now forget that you were ever fat, don't fall for old excuses, take a stand and start applying all the good principles that you are learning here, to other facets of your life, for the same kind of good results.

These same steps still apply 20 years later.....

Wishing you healthy success!
