Someone asked me how I liked carpooling with my husband.  I was happy to say it has been great!  Honestly, I didn't think I could take so much togetherness day in/out, but we actually talk and discuss things rationally (most of the time).   Since the kids, it's been more about them than us actually conversing and it's been fun to be with my husband.  Yes, we have a lot of differences.  He doesn't care about the 40 pounds I've gained and I'd do anything to have both of us at a healthy weight.  That I've been trying to encourage him has fallen on deaf ears and I usually get very frustrated with him.

Both grandmother's watch our son (he had heart surgery in November and hasn't gone to daycare yet)  and it's been a learning experience.  We've certainly had to pick our battles and have teased them that we have to pick up after them every single day.  We've certainly had our disagreements.  My mother in law, I'm sure doesn't care for me.  Her son does NO wrong, doesn't have a temper that his daughter has picked up, and if I say black it must be white!  My mother however, always pulls me aside and takes both our sides!  My mother loves my hubby and hardly ever takes sides!  Well, I'm sure that we all have our problems!

I guess we are a normal family with all the trappings.  A house that needs to be fixed from the basement up - don't ever buy a family house, just trust me!  Two jobs and never enough money, time or tenacity.

Mar. 3, 2007 at 9:13 AM My cousin gave me the same advice about the house issue. Another thing to add is that when all the children & grown & gone, you have all this room. My cousin & her husband are selling their house b/c they can't afford the payments & their girls are all grown & moved out. It sounds like you have had a learning experience for sure! I hope your little man is doing alright & your little lady is growing like a weed I'm sure. Take care of yourself, too. Sometimes, we moms (I'm gulity of this, too.) tend to think aobut everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves at times. So, include yourself once in awhile even if it's just a few minutes while you are hiding in the bathroom.Laughing
