Wednesday January 9th, 2008 at 11:29pm the greatest thing in the world entered my life, my newborn baby boy Brandon Derek Hines Jr.
he was born at Albert Einstien Hospital.
So I went to school that day, no contractions for quite awhile but that tuesday i was dilated 3cm. then i went to hang out with my friends because school let out at 12. i started feeling contractions but they weren't that intense or close together. by around 6:40 i started to head home... i had been in manhattan, and i live in the bronx. so i get on the train and by time im in the bronx the contractions are getting way closer, i mean like every other stop, they werent to0 much stronger but they were really close. by time i got to my house i barely had time in between the contractions and they were super strong, a few minutes later my mom came home, i used the bathroom and saw mucousy(sp?) blood and we called the doctor and they told me to head to the hospital, as i got dressed my fiance came home and we told him to get my bags. We got to the hospital a little before 10 and i went to triage, i was 5cm when they evaluated me and then they sent me to a L&D room, i got an IV, the anesthesiologist came to talk about me getting my epidural then next thing you know i was 10 centimeters and i couldnt get it... after about seven pushes or so out slid out my long little baby boy. 6 lbs 10.8 oz. and 19inches long. so that's his story.... that's how fast my little boy came to be. in the hospital for a little more than an hour and my whole life changed. my fiance and i went from be a couple to a family in a matter of moments.

I think its cool that you ended up having a drug free birth....there is definitely something to be said for fully experiencing every part of birth. Its amazing what we are capable of handling, huh? Knowing what you know now, would you do it again, or do you think you'd prefer an epidural next time?
