Did anyone ever take LEVAQUIN?

I was hoping to get some answers.  I was put on Leviquin 500 mg for 5 days for a UTI.  On the 3 rd day I noticed that my arm was killing me. In the middle of the night I woke up in my sleep and had bad pain in my knees and legs. even my feet were hurting. I was also having a headache, chills, back and stomach pain, and felt extreme depression which I thought came from the UTI.  I called the Pharmacist and the Dr and they said to stop the medicine and I did.  I went looking online to do some research and the company said it can cause tendon pain and even ruptures.  I found a site that thousands of people had these reactions and worse and they never went away.  I just was wondering if anyone had any effects on this medicine.  And to worn everyone do not take this medicine lightly.

It has been 48 hours off the medicine and I still have no relieve my arm hurts more today.

 

Would love to have any advice or hear your experience

Mar. 3, 2007 at 1:46 PM Call your doctor and tell him what kind of symtoms you are having, I believe they have other antibiotics that treat a UTI. I have taken Leviquin before for a UTI and didn't expereience any kind of bad reaction like that. My mom just told me that there is an over-the counter medication called Cystex. Ask your doctor about it. Good luck

    I'm sorry to hear that, I would definetely call your doctor ASAP. That way you can have her/him evaluate you, and make sure there's nothing seriously wrong!!! I hope you get better soon and keep me posted, God bless

I did call the Dr and they changed the medicine, but did not offer any advice.
