As I am sitting here writing this, it is the end of a long passing day., the longest in a while. Hannah has ADHD but had been doing well lately.....that is until today...or should I say it is now yesterday.....

It seems like everything I told her she wasn't supposed to do...she did. The day started as any other Saturday. She woke up and wanted breakfast. I fed her the usual cheerios with soy milk and set her at the table.

Now comes the beginning of my downfall...the phone rings and it is my mom. I started to talk with her thinking that all is well in our home.....but that could be furthest from the truth. So, maybe I shouldn't have been engrossed in a conversation with MY mother....heaven forbid a mom takes a little time to talk....it should be so simple.

In the time-frame of 10 minutes, Hannah had finished her cereal...handed off the bowl to 4 dogs...hit the steps running.....trashed her room(seriously I should say an A-bomb exploded in her room)....I mean her book corner with books all arranged and sorted were now thrown all over the place. ...2 boxes of clothes and toys(Still in the packages) that I packed for the consignment shop just an hour prior were toppled around the bed and room and the toys were unceremoniously ripped from their packages...and a collectors edition 10 y/o India barbie that had been sitting on a HIGH shelf for 7 years...7 YEARS......untouched, was ripped form the package and thrown in the garbage can.

So you think that would end the rampage? Not even close.....As I got off the phone and went upstairs to survey the damage, our lab takes my slipper off my foot and takes off. I run around the house chasing the dog and finally get the slipper, but he chewed off(still in his mouth) a pom pom from the slipper. I wrestled the dog...like he was a lion and I the tamer and got the pom pom and threw it away......

I went into the living room thinking that everything was back to normal.....I go to sit on the couch...my couch is covered in makeup!!!! Sitting in the middle of the couch is my 7 year old daughter also covered in makeup. The same make up she was told she couldn't..no way no how play with...the makeup that she climbed a 6 foot shelf to retrieve. There is no make up left in the "Deluxe make up case" from Santa as every inch of her face and hands is covered in eyeshadow and lip-gloss. My daughter has beautiful brown skin....she now looked like Casper the friendly ghost.

As I am cleaning up my child and the mess...the lab gets into the garbage and topples it over.....pompom rolls out......5 pound Maltese decides to eat it.

I see Lola eating it....trying to wrestle the dog proved unsuccessful as she swallows it...with difficulty of 4 GULPS I might add.

Now I am in a panic.....call the vet...out of town...call animal emergency hospital and told to bring her right in.

I grab the kid and the dog...and took off for the animal hospital.

So, I'm at the hospital and they take Lola into another room...

5 minutes later the vet comes out and tells me that they induced vomiting and went down her throat and pulled out the pom pom...says we "were lucky" and asks me if I wanted the pom pom.....

the vet tech brings out my dog, now looking green and puking.....informs me that I could take her home but she'll be puking for a while...and gives me a bill for $100.

I go home and I am ready to scream. I sit her down with her Leapster for 30 minutes of peace when her father comes in and Hannah tells him what happened with the dog. He says to me "why did you let her eat a pom pom?" Yeah...I let her..here Lola, eat this and choke.

Men.......I'll take the kids and dogs any day.
