This is interesting and I am not much for recommending or telling anyone what to do or how to raise their children.
But what I've learned and witnessed and read is to NOT coddle your child. I've seen many adults that are still acting like they are 5 years old so they can get their parents to do what they want for them. I also read that coddling a child gives the child the belief that they cannot thrive or succeed on their own. Though it may sound strange, we actually let go of our children the day that they are born. We release them from our bodies into this world. We raise them, feed them, clean them, teach them. But we also need to give them a dose of reality at the appropriate age levels. I believe the more we shelter our children, the more curious they become and most likely will have some insecurties.
