My son was retained last year by a teacher who told me 2 months before school let out ,had my first meeting with In School Team the week school let out( because they were to busy to get to me so I was told with a smile)  , fake talk with the principle three weeks after school was out only to get the bullshit reason why he was kept back but he made all A's & B's first semester and second semester except for the 2 F's he got in reading and in LAng/Arts keep in mind he passed the CRCT. So I have had enough I go over her head and now she wants to talk after 5 months of school has gone by I'm so angry I feel cheated just because he has a lazy a$$ principal at the helm. I want to go in and ring her damn neck but I have to be an adult and be calm for the sake of my son but needless to say the kids will go to a new school when school starts back. Ladies fight for your kids in school  because if you don't no one else will.

Did they give a reason why they held him back. Prehaps it was he was youmger then the others and not yet ready  in maturity for the next grade. When is his birthday.ld have told you why. I hope you find a better school.

Sylvi...
Wow I hope things work out for the better in the new school. My kids aren't school age yet, but I plan on taking an active role in their school and making sure they know me well.

OK ladies I have a question. I talked to my sons principal yesterday I have a meeting at the school on Tuesday to have him moved to the 2nd grade ok. The thing is she wants to move him ( to the 2nd grade) five months into the year only because her boss gave her hell  about doing the same thing I asked that she do in the beginning of the year and during the summer. So if I move him I want the school to pay for tutoring during the summer or I'm sending him  to summer school to make sure he is on point for the new school year. Or just let him stay where he is( retained in the first grade) and he will be one year behind his twin always. I'm just mad to be placed in position.
