To go to the Doctor or not...... I went TMI

OK SO --- I found a lump on my breast...... and I freaked out! well I went into denial mode and let 3 months pass.  flash back a week ago.... my Lump began to grow, and turn different colors.... OK I know TMI.  Well Today I decided to go to the doctor, due to having possible strep.... and in passing told my doctor...... not only did I get the stern "that is not ok to wait that long" but he made me show him immediately! Well after what felt like an hour exam on my Breast he determined it was a engorged gland over a mole and he would burn it off.............WTF Burn it off??????  Well He did and it hurts But it is NOT cancer..... TG!  

So what have I learned....... GO to the Doctor at first sign.

Jan. 18, 2008 at 6:52 PM I about freaked out when I read the beginning line of your post.  I was diagnosed with Stage 2 ductal carcinoma two years ago and I am afraid for everyone who doesn't catch it early.  Read my story on caringbridge.com, visit judymetts.  This is nothing to fool around with so I am scolding you too, but in a kind and loving way because I know about the denial feeling, etc.  I am glad everything turned out okay for you.
