I took the cup of strawberry yogurt out of the fridge. It was the last cup of yogurt I had, and as I took it out from behind the milk, my heart sank. Not cherry, not key lime, but strawberry. It is clearly not my favorite.
And then as I peeled back the foil, I began to feel for the poor cup of cultured milk. I felt bad because strawberry is always the last pick for me, like the scrawny nerd in gym class. That nerd had always been me. But among the yogurt flavors, I would make sure to pick one of every other flavor, and usually several of cherry and blueberry. Even plain-jane vanilla rated higher than strawberry.
I resolved to be nicer to strawberry yogurt. I promised to not overlook it at the next sale. I might actually do it. I even planned to pay more attention to it's half-sister, strawberry banana.
I wondered, do other people feel this way about strawberry yogurt? That it is inferior to the other flavors?
Then I just laughed. What a ridiculous train of thought! Why am I even wondering about this?
