In light of the fact that it is Martin Luther King Day, I am posting a poem I wrote.

                  Keep the Dream Alive

We're born, we grow, we age, we die.

Most pass through life quiet as a sigh,

But once upon a grand occasion

Comes one who'll shake and move a nation.

One whose character is such

That he will teach his nation much.

With peaceful resignation, he

Tried to teach us how to be

The great people God must have in mind,

Treating all fairly and always being kind.

He wanted so much to fulfill his dream,

Evil stole from him, or so it would seem.

We must keep it fresh.  We must keep it alive,

So Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream will survive.
