Time flies so quickly.  My oldest is turning 5 March 19th and I can't believe it.  He is growing up so quickly.

We are doing a Super Hero, Super Villain, Video Game themed party.  He wants it to be a costume party.  Sounds fun right?  Well, he wants to be "The Shredder" from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  For the life of me, I CANNOT find a costume.  I did the usual google search, ebay search, ubid search, froogle search, chacha search, anything and everything search with no luck!  HELP!  I have asked him if he wants to be the black spiderman, superman, or the green goblin, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas of where to locate a Shredder costumer?  or any good ideas of making one?

Here is a pic below (he doesn't want the cape at least):

I also need guests!  We haven't been the most social and Tai has a few friends, but I don't want it to turn out like last year and have two kids come (that he doesn't even know) brought over by a friend of the family and they were mean to him (called him names, etc).  Please feel free to PM me if you  have kid(s) Tai's age that would like to attend a really fun Costume Birthday Party.  I think we might need to meet beforehand to make sure the kids get along.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Last year we did a pirate birthday party. I have included some pics of the cake my hubby and I made:

ok for the arm gauntlets you could get any regular bicycle pads (probably even find them at the good will) and spray paint them silver. for the costume just a black sleevless t-shirt and pants would work.. or a ninja costume. For his face mask cut out cardboard and spray with the same silver and attach to a silver painted bicycle helmet that you have hot glued cardboard extensions on to make the helmet look similar. one thing I have learned with kids is "close enough" is better usually then they thought it would be. But be specific on the coloring or he WILL notice and comment. Remember shredder was originally a samurai turned ninja who went evil after injuries and thats why he wears the metal gear over his normal outfit. If this isn't possible find some pics of shredder at the beginning before he was scarred and therefor sans helmet and mask. then the arm and leg braces are easy. hope this help.

unsolicited advice: for food you can get a few variations of pizza or if you want to combine activity with food then get (or make) individual cheese pizza's (or just the crust) and then put out diffrent ingredients in green bowls and let each kid make their own pizza (its very ninja turtles) For the cake how about making one that resembles a tv and then put diffrent action figured popping out in diffrent area's like the characters are coming to life. if you made the middle blue it would resemble a video game. another activity could be to get some blank paper and crayons (simple supplies) and have each kid creat his or her own hero/villian/video game star and name them. then you could scrap book them all in a book along with pics from his birthday to commemorate the day. to save on a pinata I alway put some candy and maybe stickers of the theme in individual baloons and let each kid in turn pop them. For this theme they could be requiered to perform a super move and then grab the baloon and pop it (of course between each kid pick up baloon pieces for safety issues) ok.. sorry ocupational habit, lol.

PS: my kids (i have 4 10,9,7,and 5 would love to come :)

PPS: I could come early as well if you needed help decorating, preparing etc.
